I'm feeling a little "backed up". What can I do?
Unfortunately constipation is a common occurrence during the pre-op diet or post op. Try out the following:
- Drink more water
- Alpine tea
- Benefibre
- Laculose (from the pharmacy)
- Aloe vera juice
- Kiwi Crush (in the freezer)
- Kiwifruit
- Natural black liquorice
- Flaxseed/linseed
- LSA (a finely ground mix of linseed, sunflower seeds and almonds which you can make yourself or buy at a health store)
Just be aware that some of these options are higher in sugar than others, so it's up to you what you want to incorporate into your daily diet!
