The registration form and flyer for the National WLS Meet and Greet are attached. Get in quickly - places are limited!
Hey all - those of us at the meeting on 25/10/09 discussed the frequency of the Wellington support group meetings. Everyone felt that 6 weekly makes it difficult to keep track of things.
So, from now on the Wellington support meetings will be on the second Sunday of each month. This makes the next meeting on 8 November.
Everything else remains the same - 2.00pm at So Bar in Johnsonville (formerly Jay's).
Of course! It may just take a month or two for you to feel comfortable enough to eat out and make the right choices, as the last thing you want to do is dump or get food stuck when you are out with your friends.
It also pays to have a few excuses prepared for cafe/restaurant staff or friends who ask questions you don't want to answer about your appetite.
Here is a list of things you may wish to consider packing for your time in hospital. Apologies to the men out there, some items may be a bit girly for you!
Welcome to the new wlsc.co.nz website, or at least what will be the new wlsc.co.nz once it's redirected! Please note that this is a work in progress. I was hoping for some nice forum integration which hasn't really happened yet, so the forum is still separate, but integration is the plan eventually :)
I've pointed to this site earlier than intended because a few people on the forum have been requesting a chat room, and as of this evening there is one here - check out the link at the top.
We've also got an events calendar which should make it easier to see when your next support meeting is (we could also include op dates!), an FAQ section which will hopefully grow (hint hint), and some newsfeeds from other WLS and health sites.
The content here is sketchy, if you have any suggestions or want to write something, please post about it in the forum. Since the forum is now locked down it will be nice to have an open area where people can come for information, goodness knows everyone involved in the forum has a lot of great information to share!
